The Lakefront trail, on Lake Michigan's shoreline, is a wonder for strollers, joggers, skateboarders, runners and cyclists. Beaches, bike trails, nature centers, a zoo, a museum campus, a dog beach, a golf course, tennis courts, restaurants, bike rentals, even boat tours. the trail connects four major parks including Lincoln Park and Grant Park on the north side. It is 18 1/2 miles long and full of diversion.

The trails are walk, run and bike havens. It's amazing how spectacular how awe inspiring nature is in this big city.

My absolute favourite excercise, wind-down activity, beautiful ride, thing to do with friends AND commute route off of Hyde Park. You can join the Trail by 57th St Beach Tand go all the way up. The Lakefront Trail is a running and bike path that goes along the lake all the way to the North Side beaches. A way to follow a stunning view while exercising or just getting somewhere without a car.

not STRICTLY a hiking trail, but it runs the length of the city and is great for a walk!
